The Rolling Stones Set to Launch 2024 North American Tour

Rolling Stones to kick off North American Tour April 28.

In October, the Rolling Stones released “Hackney Diamonds,” their first album of original material in 18 years and are taking it to a venue near you.

Beginning April 28 in Houston and ending on July 17 in Santa Clara, California, the Stones will tour across the U.S. and Canada.

The tour will stop in 16 significant cities such as New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, British Columbia.

• 62 years ago (which coincidentally was in 1962), Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, and Bill Wyman formed a band called The Rolling Stones.

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are still with the band today, as is Ron Wood who joined the group in 1976.

• 61 years ago the Stones recorded their first single.

• 60 years ago on April 17, 1964, their first album was released in the UK. Later in 1964 they released the single “Time Is On My Side”.

In 1965 they released “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” Since that time they’ve recorded a long string of songs including “Paint It Black”, “Jumping Jack Flash”, “Honky Tonk Women”, “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, “It’s Only Rock and Roll”, “Miss You”, “Beast Of Burden” “Emotional Rescue”, and “Undercover Of The Night” just to name a few.

Mick Jagger also recorded songs outside of the Stones such as “State Of Shock” (with the Jacksons) in 1984, and “Just Another Night” in 1985.

The current tour is named after their recent album titled “Hackney Diamonds”, which was released in October 2023, and is the first album of original material since 2005.

Two of the Stones will celebrate birthdays during the tour. Ron Wood, the youngest member will turn 77 on June 1st. Mick Jagger will be 81 in July, and Keith Richards will be 81 in December. The drummer Charlie Watts passed away in 2021. He was 80.

At this point in their lives you might have expected they would be quietly retired, but The Stones just keep on rocking and Rolling !
